GM Paterson was born October 2 in Manitoulin Island.
Growing up GM spent his childhood and high school
years living in Sudbury. Ontario before following
his family and planting his roots in Hamilton.
Playing bass guitar in high school bands, GM slowly
gravitated towards a love that has become his focus
today , writing songs. Jumping in a Big Rig truck GM
learned to make a living driving a big truck on long
hauls from Canada to all 48 states in the USA. Driving eighteen wheels night after
night down a lonely highway helped GM to utilize and
express his thoughts on the road by picking up his
guitar in the cab of his truck and penning over 100
songs to his credit .
Today , GM's lyrics strongly reflect his emotions
and experiences of life on the road and the
hardships you go through making a living this way.
You can strongly feel those emotions together with a
rockin' truckin' beat in his song, "Blacktop made me
this way ".
Driving long haul as a truck driver for more than 13
years and 1.5 million miles to his credit , GM is
now showcasing his talents from out of his rig to
the performing stage.
Today, GM has been lucky to acquire the interest of
corporate sponsors , Idleaire Technologies Corp. ,
Tenn-Line Inc. both from Tennessee and Gears Guts
Glory in Georgia. GM is not only sponsored by
IdleAire but he is also the driver spokesperson
. (www.idleaire.com)..
Tenn-Line Inc., purchased GM a 2005 Peterbilt 379
and curtain side trailer for him to drive and
perform on. With his ever growing presence in the
transportation industry and his one-of-a-kind stage
shows , a few more trucks were inevitable bearing
his likeness splashed across 48 and 53 foot
trailers. These eye catching customized curtainside
trailers can be seen at most shows and along the
highways of USA and Canada.
GM stays very busy in the trucking side of his life
, but also travels with a seven piece band called
"OverDrive ".
2006 has been a busy year for GM in the studio
recording in Nashville for his new CD, Real. He is
getting ready for a busy year in trucking , writing
new material and performing his brand of " Country
Rock with a Road Edge " at truck shows, fairs ,
rodeos and events around the country.
GM has achieved nothing short then impressive
strides as an independent Country recording artist .
You don't wanna miss his tribute to the highway show
that features GM's brand of Rockin' country
standards to his trucking original masterpieces that
are guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye and a
lift off your seat.
This artist is a-one-of-a-kind true original
lifestyle recording artist . What you see and hear
is what you get which is nothing short of "the real
deal" .....
